Posted by TrappaKeepa I wasn't surprised when I opened up this file and listened to it. Like 90% of the custom sounds for L4D, it's missing one of the most crucial elements a sounds needs in order to be functional in game; the distant sound effect.

    so very true trappa

I wasn't surprised when I opened up this file and listened to it. Like 90% of the custom sounds for L4D, it's missing one of the most crucial elements a sounds needs in order to be functional in game; the distant sound effect. Unfortunately this kills the realism rating and dings the ambient rating as well.

The good thing though is that the sound itself is great. Good quality and well within the limitations for this specific weapon. The sound isn't over amplified and I'm not left with a "Should this have a silencer attachment?" or a "Christ almighty I didn't know I was firing a canon!" as I often feel after listening to most custom weapon sounds. So kudos there.

Suggestions: Tweak the right channel to add the distant sound effect. Muffle it, reduce the volume, whatever it takes. Do this and you'll have a top notch sound!
