AI-Directors visual effects

A little problem

As we all know, the AI director adjusts visual effects during a "panic" etc to enhance the experience. On my computer (specs follow) i can only get them if i set shader detail to high, however that costs me quite a lot of FPS and my entire AA. I first realized when i browsed through the graphics options and saw that film grain thing. In the menu that is. In the actual game, i lack ALL visual enhancements.

Are there any console commands to "force" them to run on medium shader detail?

SPECS: Microsoft Windows XP SP3 AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3000+ MMX, 3D Now ~2.0Ghz(i heard this is actually 3.2 Ghz) 2046MB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 7600GT 512MB

    If my 3500+ is 2.2Ghz how can that possibly be 3.2Ghz? Its that Athlon anyway that is the cause of the problems.

    No idea what that means, but the processor is still probably the bugging thing.

    Yeah i know, but im sure there are some console commands? there are always console commands for this stuff.
